Dating back to approximately 1924, the market officially opened its doors on 15 January 1925. Since then, it has stood as a testament to Lagos\u2019s rich heritage and communal spirit. To commemorate this significant occasion, a series of events will take place from 19 October 2024 to 15 January 2025, culminating in the unveiling of a commemorative plaque and the launch of the book \u2018Mercado Municipal da Avenida (1924) \u2013 Um Mercado Centen\u00e1rio\u2019, dedicated to chronicling the market\u2019s enduring legacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The centenary celebrations promise a variety of engaging activities.
